In a luminous acoustic dialogue recorded in Tokyo’s Avaco Studios, guitarist-composer Jakob Bro meets Japanese ambient pioneer and percussionist Midori Takada. The result is あなたに出会うまで / Until I Met You—a meditative, genre-defying duet of acoustic guitar, marimba, piano, and percussion. The title, drawn from one of Takada’s compositions, speaks to the quiet transformation of friendship, as two singular artists blend their voices into a new and deeply intimate sonic ecosystem.
Originally commissioned by Pierre Boulez Saal, this transcontinental collaboration also features upcoming live performances across Europe and Japan in 2025 and 2026.
